The Internal Family Systems Therapy began being developed in the 1980's by Dr. Richard Schwartz, Ph.D. He continued to develop the model and spread the word in the psychological community. As the model developed and the success of the practice continued to grow practicers began exploring the model with physical struggles and diseases. The benefits of the therapeutic practice on psychological and physical issues is profound and will continue to expand.
